Once Carolina was even friendly with Chantal, the ex-wife of the prince, the daughter of a Swiss magnate. The divorce proceedings between Chantal and Ernst-August were expected to be long and painful. However, unexpectedly for all, Chantal decided not to put up any obstacles, give freedom to her husband and thereby save their two sons – Ernst-Augustus Jr. and Christian – from difficult family scenes. In revenge, she cursed the whole family, prophesying that there would be no happy marriages in this family. Be that as it may, of the current generation of the princely family, only the 46-year-old Princess Caroline was lucky in her personal life – and even then on the third attempt, when she married the Prince of Hanover. Ernst-Augustus, a native of the old family, the owner of magnificent castles in the north of Germany, is the godfather and grand-nephew of the Queen of England, as well as cousin of Queen Sofia of Spain and the Greek king Constantine. Monaco Hotels
Wealth and diversity are two characteristic features of the hotel sector of the principality. Old palaces are witnesses of a magnificent past and incomparable luxury. Speaking as a symbol of the legendary era, they challenged time, and in place of yesterday’s traditions, their current reputation has grown. “Hotel de Paris” and “Hotel Hermitage” lead the story in their own way. The first – built in the last century, retained all the splendor of noble architecture, reflected in its hall, the Empire Hall, rooms and salons. The second – together with its neoclassical-style restaurant and the Winter Garden, creates a carefully guarded atmosphere of the “Beautiful era” of the 20th century. Royal circus
The XXXIII International Circus Festival in Monte Carlo brought together the best artists from around the world under the dome of the famous tent of Fontvieille. Among them were our compatriots. For the first time in this millennium and for the second time in the history of the country, Ukraine received a gold award at the Monte Carlo festival. On January 18, 2009, she was awarded the Kobzov circus performers, air gymnasts Dmitry Grigorov and Oles Shulge for the flight of passion. “Princess Stephanie is standing over there!” Natasha Rybchenko, artist of the National Circus of Ukraine, winner of last year’s festival in Monte Carlo, pushed me by the arm. “You just don’t need to take pictures,” she predicted my attempt to raise the camera, “she doesn’t like that.” Continue reading
Collection of vintage cars Prince of Monaco
“This is not a car museum, but a private collection of antique cars of all ages and all countries. Available to everyone or prestigious, they were the masterpieces of their time and I really liked it, ”is how Prince Rainier III defines this collection of antique cars. In the small world of lovers and collectors, there are many people who share His Highness’s interest in these cars, but few of them have the privilege and opportunity to visit the prince’s garage and, thus, personally witness his great impulse of passion. Currently, more than one hundred exhibits are offered to the general public for general enjoyment.
This collection of cars does not adhere to a strict chronological framework. It was just that the sovereign prince decided in it to show evolution in the history of mechanics. Continue reading
