Collection of vintage cars Prince of Monaco
“This is not a car museum, but a private collection of antique cars of all ages and all countries. Available to everyone or prestigious, they were the masterpieces of their time and I really liked it, ”is how Prince Rainier III defines this collection of antique cars. In the small world of lovers and collectors, there are many people who share His Highness’s interest in these cars, but few of them have the privilege and opportunity to visit the prince’s garage and, thus, personally witness his great impulse of passion. Currently, more than one hundred exhibits are offered to the general public for general enjoyment.
This collection of cars does not adhere to a strict chronological framework. It was just that the sovereign prince decided in it to show evolution in the history of mechanics.
Funny stories are connected with many of the cars presented – for example, a midwife in the Isere district went to this small “quad-rilet” to take delivery from her patients. Another Woody combi-class car belonged to Prince Louis II – this Cadillac was for a long time in the service of the Palace and was used to hold many ceremonies at the highest level. The romantic “Renault KZ” was in the possession of the village priest, the car was found in the ruined monastery of his parish … But this wonderful “Florida” was given to the Renault factory by Princess Grace on the occasion of the serial production of the car, and the small “Morris Minor” was personal for a long time car of princess charlotte. Funny English “Taxi Austin” was a favorite toy for the children of the prince’s family …
The unique model of the Rosengart brand belonged to the wife of the director of this plant, and the Rolls-Royce Silver Kl-ud became a wedding gift to the prince from the principals of the principality. It also features magnificent horse-drawn cars that belonged to the Palace and on which the prince’s family drove for many generations. This beautiful collection can be found in the Terrace complex in the Fontvieille quarter.
Not far from the Collection of vintage cars of Prince Rainier III, the Maritime Museum has opened, which contains more than 150 models of various ships. This exhibition embodied the dream of Professor Claude Pallank, a former naval officer and a passionate admirer of the “blue expanses.”

An excellent layout designer from a young age, he personally fulfilled and systematized this magnificent collection. Most of the presented models are made on a scale from 1/100 to 1/32 using parts 2-3 meters long.
In addition, Professor Pallanca aimed to recreate the great events in the world history of navigation over the past hundred years, which was expressed in the following models: the battleship “Potemkin” – the hero of the Russian revolution, the cruiser “Missouri”, on board of which on September 2, 1945, a truce was signed with Japan (the table that served to sign this treaty is even shown here), as well as other exhibits representing visitors to various historical episodes.
Here you can also see models of various ships dating back to the period from the 17th century to the present: merchant ships, automobile transporters, oil tankers, passenger liners, research vessels, aircraft carriers, submarines, armadillos, etc.
This exhibition also features several magnificent models from the personal collection of the ancient ships of Prince Monaco Rainier III, which is a unique collection on the Cote d’Azur.
