Three days in Monaco (part 1)
A helicopter came in from the sea to land, and a young gentleman in glasses with red glasses and a light suitcase made of red leather shouted into my ear, squinting from the sun:
“I want to write a book, get a Nobel Prize in literature, and instead of money I’ll ask the Nobel Committee to be made me a monegasque.” I managed, they say it is real.
– And what is the thrill of being a Monegasque? (The young gentleman is a well-known Moscow journalist Valery Panyushkin, it is worth listening to him.)
– Do not pay taxes …

Rest for socialites
The quintessence of civilization. If you give each country the tourist characteristics of “one line”, then Monaco is a respectable vacation of a secular type. In the principality there are no outstanding natural beauties, poor fauna, and you can find beaches much more extensive and more affordable – in the same Italy, or on the neighboring French Riviera. But in terms of urban recreation, visiting social receptions and receptions, holding elite celebrations, a cultural program, and simply exploring the outstanding architecture, monuments of art and culture of Europe, this is one of the best places in the world.
Having visited Monaco, you will see how beautiful and harmonious human civilization can be. This, of course, is not about the cleanliness of the streets, and not about the ceremonial decoration of buildings. Continue reading
